______
At 6 weeks, we have all been microchipped and are nearly ready for our new homes!"
(more new shots on the home page). At 7 weeks, our eyes have been
examined and we are just about ready to go home with our new families!
1. Lucy has discovered sticks - and runs to get them - but she has not yet grasped the concept of bringing them back! She also has a great interest in balls and toys- and "herds" them all into a pile - and then guards her pile!
2. Roxie is an adventurer - the first to climb the stairs - and the first to "break out" of the pen when she gets a chance.
3. Cyan is a gardener - or maybe a "harvester" - and likes to "help" me in the herb garden! She was also quick to master the bell ringing trick to go outside!
4. Silver is a real sweetheart... and he loves the outdoors - he is adept at untying tennis shoes and is one of the best at keeping up with Gibson and Shiner when they are running and herding the pups.
5 Tucker is the ham of the group. He will pose for pictures all day long! He has gone to live with a great rodeo family in Richmond, Texas.
6. Gypsy is the feistiest of the bunch - and has also learned that ringing the bell wins a free trip outside!
#1 - "Lucy" was the first of this litter to find
a new family. She has been reserved by a
great couple from Lufkin, Texas.
#2 - "Roxie" will be living near San Antonio - and just might have a good chance of going to a Spurs game or two!
#3 - "Cyan" will be going to work in
Austin - with her new dad in a screen-printing/design business!
#4, "Silver" will belong to a little girl
named Madison and her family on a ranch
out in Leander.
#5 "Tucker" has gone to live with a
rodeo family from the Houston area.
#6 "Gypsy" is going to
Round Rock and will spend her free
time visiting Austin College and camping out!

This excerpt from one of our favorite websites - Dusty Boots Farm. You will find their site very informative and their dogs are great examples of the breed standard.
Mini or Toy?
Mini Aussies are normally 14-17 inches in height and weigh 18-35 pounds. They are durable and full of energy, if bred correctly, truly just a smaller version of the standard Australian Shepherd. Owning a Mini Aussie is like having a permanent puppy-you will be stopped everywhere you go as people inquire about your "puppy". Mini Aussies are an ideal package-a small dog with a big dog make up-no yapping, no whining and they're far from fragile. If you have kids and/or a busy lifestyle, we think Mini Aussies are tough to beat.
Toy Aussies are very new, they are usually 11-14 inches and 10-20 pounds. Although not petite, they are still small animals and not an ideal match with little kids. If you are seeking a dog that will hang with you all day long-whether working hard or hardly working-and then sit in your lap all evening, the Toy Aussie is probably your best choice. Again, a real dog in a toy-sized package.
However, a word of warning, you do have to be a social person to own a Mini or Toy Aussie, they are head-turners and strangers will stop you everywhere you go.
How Long Will They Live?
Small dogs tend to live longer than larger dogs so you can expect your new friend to be around for a good long time. Twelve to fourteen years is normal for Toy & Mini Aussies. The little extra price you pay for a good, healthy Toy or Mini Aussie is minimal compared to the joy and devotion you will receive in the years ahead.
